Best practice and standards set by both the National CASA Association and the Maryland State Administrative Office of the Courts requires that CASA programs provide one professional supervisor for every 30 active volunteers and each volunteer provides service to one child or sibling group.  The income to the program addresses the cost of volunteer recruitment, screening, training and professional supervision in compliance with these standards.  Approximately 80% of CASA of Baltimore operating budget is for personnel and this is directly related to the number of volunteers serving children.
